Kiefer & Kiefer filed suit against a building owner on behalf of our client after the ceiling fell down, causing her injuries. Our client was working as a bartender when suddenly she was struck in the head by a tile, which fell from the ceiling. At first, the insurance company denied the claim, alleging that the building was owned by the same company as her employer, making her claim limited to workers compensation. However, we were able to prove after researching the land records that the owner of the building, although affiliated with her employer, was incorporated as a separate entity, making them responsible in court for her injuries. The case was filed in New Orleans and is being handled by Megan Kiefer
