I injured my knee in new orleans: how much is it worth?

By January 17, 2022June 8th, 2023No Comments

If you are ever unfortunate enough to suffer a knee injury as a result of an accident in New Orleans you will soon find out that insurance companies will take great strides to show that your injury is not that serious.

One of the reasons for that is because insurance companies understand that when you suffer a knee injury, your medical bills will be high in New Orleans and they will do their best to settle your case quickly before you realize how serious your knee injury is.

On the other hand, lawyers have commercials and billboards all around town giving people what could be false impressions of results on their injury case when they guarantee certain injuries are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Put simply: any attorney who promises you a certain result is not telling you the truth and is not doing right by you.

Take a look at these cases in which the people in each case suffered varying degrees of knee injuries and the amount awarded around the State of Louisiana:

A Plaintiff suffered an aggravation of a pre-existing condition to his knee in an accident and was awarded $15,000. Pinn v. Pennison, 2016-0615 (La. App. 1 Cir. 12/22/16), 209 So.3d 844.

A Plaintiff received an award of $65,000 because a total knee replacement and chiropractic care was needed. Mack v. Wiley, 2007-2344 (La. App. 1 Cir. 5/2/08); 991 So.2d 479.

A Plaintiff was walking out of a restaurant and fell. She had arthritis and underwent surgery on both knees. The fall exacerbated her pre-existing condition, and she will likely need future knee surgeries.  Plaintiff was awarded $240,000. Locke v. Young, 42, 703 (La. App. 2 Cir. 12/12/07); 973 So.2d 831.

The takeaway here is that no one can give you a specific value for your personal injury because the results of the value of these cases differ dramatically.  We can only do our best to use our 60 years of experience handling personal injury cases in New Orleans and Louisiana to survey the specific facts and circumstances surrounding your case, your medical records and bills, and any restrictions your doctors give you, the jurisdiction where your case is pending, and other relevant information, and give you what our recommended value of your case is.

We will then work as hard as we can to get you the most amount possible for your personal injury.

Kiefer and Kiefer has a team of attorneys who have experience handling knee injuries. We will fight back against the insurance companies and their adjusters who want to say your injury is worth less than it really is.
